[News Summary] Shenzhen Tunsing Plastic Products Co., Ltd. officially released its latest research and development in polyurethane (TPU) hot melt adhesive film—DS8111. As a high-performance thermoplastic hot melt adhesive film, DS8111 brings a brand-new high-quality solution to seamless bonding processes in numerous industries such as apparel, footwear, luggage, embroidery, and sporting goods, owing to its outstanding composite bonding strength, excellent soft feel and resilience, and superior cold resistance.
DS8111 adopts a polyurethane structure supported by release paper and can be repeatedly heated and plasticized, designed specifically to meet modern industrial demands for efficient, eco-friendly, and highly durable composites. Its core advantages include:
Strong Broad-Spectrum Adhesion: Exhibits excellent adhesion and peel strength on various textile fabrics, TPU, PC (polycarbonate), and PVC materials.
Exquisite Feel and Resilience: Features a good soft feel and excellent resilience, perfectly matching the requirements of clothing and footwear for wearing comfort and shape recovery.
Outstanding Cold Resistance: The glassional transition temperature (T_g) is as low as -28±10°C, ensuring that the product maintains great flexibility and crack resistance in extremely cold environments.
Stable Thermorheological Characteristics: The material completes the transition from a viscoelastic solid to a viscoelastic fluid at approximately 105.1°C, featuring uniform flow and exceptional wetting properties.
According to standard tests by the Tunsing Laboratory and professional testing instruments (NETZSCH DSC 214, Anton Paar dynamic rotational rheometer), the core technical parameters of DS8111 are as follows:
Chemical Composition: Polyurethane
Colour: Transparent
Proportion (Density): 1.18 ± 0.02 g/cm³
Hardness: 75 ± 2 Shore A
Melt Flow Index (MFI): 10 ± 5 cm³/10min (Test Standard: ASTM D1238-04)
Melting Range: 80 - 110°C (Test Standard: ISO 11357)
Activation Temperature: 102 - 142°C
Release Protection: Glassine Release Paper
Glass Transition Temperature (T_g): Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measured a clear endothermic peak value at approximately -25.8°C (tolerance range -28±10°C).
Melting Endothermic Peak (T_m): The DSC curve shows an obvious melting endothermic peak near 103.3°C.
Rheological Transition Point: Dynamic rheological tests show that the intersection point of storage modulus (G') and loss modulus (G''), which represents the solid-fluid transition of the material, is approximately 105.1°C.
Thickness Range: 0.03mm - 0.15mm (Conventional Thicknesses: 0.05mm, 0.08mm, 0.10mm)
Width Range: 5mm - 1480mm (Conventional Width: 1380mm)
Finished Product Specification: 1380mm * 100 yard/roll
To help downstream customers establish optimal manufacturing conditions, Tunsing provides the following suggested process parameters:
First Lamination (Initial Adhesion / Release Paper Lamination):
Mechanical Mold Temperature: 130°C - 170°C
Time: 5 - 15 seconds
Pressure: 0.3 - 0.6 MPa
Second Lamination (Final Bonding After Release Paper Removal):
Mechanical Mold Temperature: 140°C - 180°C
Time: 8 - 25 seconds
Pressure: 0.3 - 0.6 MPa
Test data shows that when testing with a 0.1mm adhesive film on cotton fabric, as the bonding temperature increases from 130°C to 160°C-180°C, the peel strength achieves a significant increase and remains stable at a high level (maximum strength reaching nearly 70 N/25mm).
Backed by strong bonding strength and a comfortable feel, DS8111 hot melt adhesive film can be widely applied in:
Apparel and Textiles: Seamless underwear, sportswear, placket/pocket laminations, badge embroidery, etc.
Footwear and Luggage: Athletic shoe upper composites, seamless handbags, leather goods and luggage bonding
Toys and Sporting Goods: Hats, various inflatable or soft sports equipment and other materials securely bonded
